What We Believe

Statement of Faith

Hardins Chapel Church reaffirms the Apostles’ Creed (circa 2nd century A.D.) within our core fundamental statement of faith.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:13; Jude 3; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4

We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God and is therefore the basis for any statement of faith.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 19:7–9

We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14

Jesus Christ is the only Savior and the only way to salvation and everlasting life.
Scripture: John 14:6; Acts 4:12; 1 Timothy 2:5

We believe in His deity, as well as His virgin birth, death, resurrection, ascension, and imminent return.
Scripture: John 1:1,14; Colossians 2:9; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Acts 1:9–11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17

Salvation is freely given and assured by grace through faith in Christ and is not earned by human works.
Scripture: Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; Romans 3:24–26

Sanctification is an individual, progressive work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Christian and leads to a lifestyle of holiness.
Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 4:3; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Galatians 5:22–25; 1 Peter 1:15–16; Philippians 2:12–13

We believe in and practice two sacraments—water baptism and the Lord’s Supper (communion).
Scripture: Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3–4; Acts 2:38–41; Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26
